Subtle motion

AI image animator for living portraits

Use an AI image animator to give a portrait a pulse: a slow blink, a soft smile, wind through the hair, or neon light moving across the skin. The image stays familiar. It simply begins to breathe.

One quiet gesture

Bring a still portrait to life

A small movement can change the entire mood. Keep the camera still and let one natural detail carry the scene.

Close-up portrait of a braided Chinese woman blinking softly in warm window light

Blink

A slow blink gives way to a soft smile. Window light, a calm gaze, and barely-there movement make the portrait feel present.

Indian woman with pink hair and a white shirt on a windy seaside cliff

Breeze

Wind catches loose pink waves and lifts a linen collar. She remains still as golden-hour light rolls in from the sea.

Colombian woman in a leather jacket looking up through rain at night

Rain

Rain slips from wet hair beneath a streetlamp. Her eyes lift toward the glow while the camera holds steady.

German woman in lilac silk turning from a softly lit window

Turn

A quiet profile shifts into eye contact. She turns from the window, meets the camera, and lets a smile appear.

Persian woman in a flowing red silk dress on a sunset balcony

Silk

A sunset breeze moves through a long red dress. The fabric ripples while her hands rest calmly on the balcony rail.

Croatian woman beneath flickering pink and blue neon in a dark room

Neon

Pink and blue light flickers across her face and silver dress. Her breathing remains slow, creating movement without changing the scene.

From still to stirring

How photo animation works

  1. 1

    Bring your portrait

Upload your own photo or one you have the right to use. You can also start with a still created in the studio.

  2. 2

    Describe the motion

Ask for one restrained gesture: a blink, head turn, breeze, falling rain, or shifting light. Add “natural, realistic movement” and “static camera” to keep the effect focused.

  3. 3

    Render and download

Choose your format and engine, then render the clip in a few minutes. It will appear in your private library, ready to watch or download.

Keep the motion honest

Animate only images you have the right to use. When a real person appears, consent and context matter.

You can use

  • Portraits you photographed
  • Photos you own
  • Images licensed for your use
  • Real adults who have consented
  • Fictional adult portraits

Never use

  • Photos used without permission
  • Real people without consent
  • False portrayals of real actions
  • Generated motion presented as real footage
  • Uploads that violate the studio rules

Quiet scenes, alive

Image animation questions

What does an image animator do?+

It turns a still picture into a short video by adding controlled movement. With Promptgasm, you can create a blink, smile, breeze, head turn, falling rain, or shifting light while keeping the original scene recognizable.

How do I animate a photo?+

Upload your image, describe the movement you want, and choose an image-to-video engine. A focused prompt such as “She blinks slowly and smiles, natural, realistic movement, static camera” helps produce a restrained result.

Can photo animation make someone blink or smile?+

Yes. You can request a slow blink, a faint smile, gentle breathing, moving hair, or another small gesture. Keeping the camera static helps the motion feel like a living portrait rather than a new scene.

Will the original picture change?+

Image-to-video generation may introduce visual changes as it creates new frames. To preserve the portrait closely, ask for one subtle action, natural movement, and a static camera rather than a complex sequence.

How long does photo animation take?+

A clip takes a few minutes to render. Image-to-video options include Fast, Best, and Ultra, with clips of 5, 10, or 15 seconds and up to 30 seconds on Ultra. Resolution reaches 1080p.

Is it free to animate a photo?+

Account registration costs nothing, though you’ll need both an account and credits to make animations. Promptgasm sells credits in single-purchase packs priced in US dollars, without a subscription; longer Ultra clips require more credits than shorter ones.

Is it possible to animate a real person’s photo?+

You may animate your own photo. If another real person appears, you need their consent and the right to use the image. Do not create motion that falsely portrays something they did.
